Measure The Garage From The Street To The Back Wall
A garage label does not establish fit. Compare the vehicle's true height, width and length with the clear opening, interior depth, cabinets, lifts, stairs, door hardware and turning area. Measure the driveway approach and any grade or crown that changes usable clearance.
For example, a garage advertised as 32 feet deep with 18-inch cabinets across the back has only 30 feet 6 inches of usable depth. A boat measuring 31 feet 6 inches on its trailer will not fit with the door closed. Measure the tongue, motor position and roof equipment in the configuration you will actually store, then allow room to move and service the vehicle.
Take the Lake Havasu RV Garage Fit Checklist to the property so the actual vehicle, clear opening and usable bay are measured consistently.

| Check | Record | What can reduce the space |
|---|---|---|
| Clear door opening | Width and height with the door fully open | Tracks, weather seals and a sloping approach |
| Usable bay | Depth and width at the narrowest point | Cabinets, steps, lifts and equipment |
| Street-to-garage turn | Tow vehicle and trailer swept path | Walls, gates, parked vehicles and pool structures |
| Service access | Route to pool equipment and vehicle storage | Side-yard fencing, utilities and landscaping |
